Company starts trading from St John's Innovation Centre, Cambridge
Company Profile
Anatune started trading on February 1st 1996.
The company has come a long way since then and has changed and developed very significantly. These developments have been both planned and forced, often in ways that could not even have been imagined in 1996 - the explosive growth of the internet with the resultant changes to distribution and marketing being the most obvious.
The original vision was to create a company which would be more than a supplier of Chromotography equipment. Real customer value was seen to come from combining both industry, scientific and application knowledge. The outcome of this combination was an emphasis upon solving problems and creating efficiency and effectiveness.
In the words of Ray Perkins MD and founder:
Our customers don't buy our products; instead they buy what our products can do. As a result, we focus on providing solutions rather than selling instruments.
Today, this vision is still at the centre of the business never more so than in the work undertaken in the in-house laboratory, soon to be doubled in capacity. This laboratory is not seen then as a luxury. It is, in many ways, at the centre of the way the company does business. Within any sector our customers tend to face similar challenges. It makes sense then for us to develop analytical technologies which solve more generic problem.
As a supplier of equipment from the world's best and most trusted chromatography manufacturers, Anatune is uniquely placed to combine the best technologies available to solve problems. The company stresses the need to focus on data quality, robustness, reliability, simplicity, speed and cost per sample. In addition, where a solution is industry wide, Anatune, in partnership with its customers, strives to develop complete analytical methodologies. This way the costs are shared to the economic benefit of all.
