Employed within the Fragrance Industry for 17 years Angus has extensive experience in the analysis of complex fragrances utilizing chromatography, GC and GCMS. He has developed key applications for the analysis of fragrances and fragrance formulations in products, and for the analysis and characterization of fragrance materials in products and deposited on surfaces.
Eike Kleine-Benne studied chemistry at the University of Muenster (Germany). He received his PhD in 2004 on a thesis of air analysis of low volatile and thermolabile substances like n-methyl carbamate pesticides. He has been working for GERSTEL for 10 years as R&D Project Manager, where he is responsible for scienitific projects and cooperation projects.
Kevin MacNamara graduated from the National University of Ireland in 1968 with a PhD in Organic Chemistry. He worked for a number of years in the UK on synthesis of fire retardants using anti-Markovnikov halogen addition to suitable substrates. He returned to Ireland in 1972 to join the Government Alcohol Corporation (Ceimici Teoranta) where he was appointed Senior Chemist at the Technical Centre with responsibility for services to the various plants in instrumental GC analysis and distillation optimisation studies. He joined Irish Distillers in 1981 in a similar role and played an active role in establishing modern instrumental and pilot plant laboratories at the Dublin Technical Centre. In 2000 this centre was relocated to the Midleton Distillery site in Cork and presently Dr Mac Namara is Head of Technical Development at this site. In addition to distillation studies he has also published extensively on gas chromatographic analysis of spirits and has a particular interest in two dimensional GC. He also represents Ireland on the Technical Group of CEPS, The European Confederation of Spirit Producers.
