Chromatography Automation Conference a Huge Success
On 1st & 2nd October, Anatune hosted a conference entitled 'Automation in the Chromatography Laboratory'. The event was run with the objective of introducing as many analysts as possible to the current benefits and practicalities of chromatography automation.
The event was strongly attended by analysts from a large number of organisations with a broad range of interests. Companies represented included Proctor & Gamble, BAT and Givaudan. The event was held at the fantastic Down Hall Country House Hotel in Hertfordshire, which will be the venue for next year's event also.
Chromatography Automation
The two day event concentrated on instrumentation and technologies that can be used to increase the degree of automation of both routine and non-routine analytical procedures associated with both Gas and Liquid Chromatography. Of the speakers, some of whom travelled from the USA and Europe to speak at the event, many that had direct experience of successfully applying advanced automation technologies in busy analytical laboratories.
The two-day conference gave ample opportunity for speakers and delegates to mingle and exchange ideas. Topics covered included the automated preparation and addition of standards and surrogates, automated extraction of solids, automated derivatisation, thermal extraction of filters, formula identification on single-quad MS and automated solid phase extraction in a variety of different forms.
