GERSTEL SPE Solid Phase Extraction for GC and HPLC

This very powerful automation instrument can be operated as a stand-alone sample PrepStation or used to inject directly into a GC or HPLC. Cartridge conditioning, sample addition, elution, blow down, internal standard addition and injection steps are completely automated. Software control, via Maestro software can be fully integrated into the Agilent ChemStation.

The system is highly configurable and can, in addition to the SPE hardware, accommodate other sample processing accessories from both GERSTEL and Anatune's product ranges. The system is also available in dual rail, PrepStation configuration to permit even more extensive automation of sample processing.

Horizon Technology SPE-DEX 4790 Automated SPE Disc Extraction

While SPE cartridges work well for small sample volumes, Samples in the 100ml - 2L range can take a very long time to process, and the presence of particulates can result in the cartridge plugging. This is where SPE discs come into play. With much greater permeability, large volume samples can be processed quickly and strategies can be employed to deal with heavily particulate laden samples. The SPE-DEX 4750 provides the automation needed to get consistantly good results and enables large numbers of samples to be processed efficiently.

The SPE-DEX can be used to automate current US EPA protocols that cover a wide range analyte classes, so method development doesn't have to be too onerous - often an existing EPA method will provide a good place to start.

The EU Water Framework Directive (WFD) requires priority pollutants to be measured in the whole water sample - not just the disolved phase. SPE-DEX provides for a "One-Step" extraction of the analytes dissolved in the liquid phase AND those adsorbed onto suspended particular material. Avoiding the costs associated with two separate extraction processes.

Anatune On-Line Sample Enrichment for Liquid Chromatography

As required LODs continue to fall, the pressure is on to find ways of getting to lower levels, while maintaining productivity. Complex and time consuming manual procedures are increasingly unacceptable and so automation of the whole analytical process becomes more and more attractive. If you need a laboratory based solution, we have all of the tools and experience to be able to tailor a system to exactly match your needs. Alternatively you may be looking for a fully automated on-line system that can operate, unattended, at a remote location - we can meet this requirement too.

GERSTEL TDU for Desorption of Twister Stir Bars
Stir Bar Sorptive Extraction (SBSE) is a solvent free extraction technique that permits splitless injection of the whole extract into the column.

This gives very low limits of detection from a simple, one-stage extraction process. Twister stir bars consist if a glass encapsulated magnets, coated with a thick layer of polydimethyl siloxane. This non-polar, hydrophobic polymer acts as an extraction medium that can be magnetically stirred to extract analytes from an aqueous matrix and then thermaly desorbed.

The stir bars used may be re-used many times and work in both liquid and headspace modes.

GERSTEL Automated DPX for Fast SPE for High Throughput GC & LC
Solid Phase Extraction in Seconds!

DPX stands for Disposable Pipette EXtraction. It is a patented Solid Phase Extraction (SPE) device that is unique from all other SPE devices.

DPX uses pipette tips that incorporate loosely contained sorbent material that is mixed with the sample solution. This unique mixing provides numerous advantages:

  • No conditioning steps are necessary.
  • Minimal elution solvent volumes.
  • Rapid extraction times (less than 3 minutes/sample).
  • High extraction efficiencies.
  • Extractions are easy to perform.
  • DPX may be fully automated using GERSTEL MPS 2 and Maestro software.

The benefits are significant: higher throughput, lower costs, reduced solvent useage all with minimal training required.
